The double century has made Ishan the highest run-getter in an innings by a visiting batsman in Bangladesh. Australia's Shane Watson held the record after he scored 185* in 2011.
Ishan Sharma got an opportunity to play in the game after captain Rohit Sharma was ruled out due to a thumb injury in the second ODI.
India had lost quick wicket of opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan during the start of their innings. But Ishan along with Virat Kohli stitched up a 200-plus run stand for the second wicket.
Kishan eventually got out for 210 runs that included 24 boundaries and 10 sixes.
Since the start of the series, the Indian cricket team has been marred with multiple injuries and fitness-related problems, which resulted in India losing the first two games by a thin margin of 5 runs.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma got injured and was forced to leave the field with a bleeding finger while trying to catch a ball in Bangladesh's batting innings during the second ODI in Dhaka.
Fast bowlers Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Sen also suffered injuries during the ODI series.
Rohit Sharma and Deepak Chahar will not be available for the Test series in Bangladesh said head coach Rahul Dravid on Wednesday.
