'He Is Still Fit': MS Dhoni's Childhood Friend Reckons CSK Star Will Play One More IPL Season
Paramjit Singh, MS Dhoni's childhood friend, believes that the CSK-skipper is still fit enough to play one or two more IPL seasons.
MS Dhoni is set to make a comeback to competitive cricket in the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The iconic CSK figure is determined to secure another successful title defence. Speculation is rife that the IPL 2024 season might mark Dhoni's final stint in cricket. Although MS Dhoni hasn't made any official announcements about his future in cricket, there is a significant update on his playing career provided by his childhood friend, Paramjit Singh.
During IPL 2023, Dhoni battled a knee issue but played in every game. Post the season's conclusion, he underwent knee surgery. Currently in the recovery phase, the CSK captain has been seen batting in the nets a few times recently. It is anticipated that he will rejoin CSK's practice camp next week.
'He Will Definitely Play One More Season' Reckons Paramjit Singh
Paramjit Singh, a childhood friend of Dhoni, believes that the upcoming IPL 2024 season won't mark the end of Dhoni's playing career. According to him, as reported by OneCricket, the CSK captain is expected to continue playing for one or two more seasons.
"I do not think this will be his (Dhoni’s) last season. He is still fit. I think he will play one or two more seasons. He will definitely play one more season. The reason is he is fit," Paramjit told OneCricket.
In a recent sighting, Dhoni was observed practising in the nets, and his bat featured a 'Prime Sports' sticker, which is associated with a shop owned by his friend, Paramjit. The image quickly went viral, drawing praise for the enduring friendship between the two.
Chennai Super Kings will kick off their IPL title defence on March 22 playing the first match of the IPL 2024 against the Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
