The iconic West Indian T20 stalwart once again achieved a herculean milestone in the shortest format of the game as he notched up 1000 sixes in his T20 career during Kings Eleven Punjab's IPL 2020 encounter against Rajasthan Royals played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday. Gayle struck a fiery 99-run knock (63 balls) to help KXIP post a competitive 185-run total but that was not enough as Rajasthan Royals chased down the target down with relative ease on the back of a whirlwind half ton by Ben Stokes. The 'Universal Boss' continued his good form in the tournament racking up 99-run innings which was laced with eight sixes and six fours. Gayle's blistering innings was hailed by the cricketing fraternity all over the globe. Meanwhile, former England skipper Vaughan was surprised by Gayle's "amazing" knock and praised the 41-year-old cricketer after he reached the milestone. "Just witnessed a 41 yr getting the most amazing 99 !!! In doing so he hit his 1000 six in T20 cricket ... Chris Gayle stands atop the six hitting charts in T20 cricket by some distance. Kieron Pollard is in second place with 690 sixes in 524 games while former Kiwi attacking batsman Brendon McCullum is in third place with 485 sixes in 370 matches. Rohit Sharma is the only Indian batsman in the top-10 with 376 sixes in 337 games.
