Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli paid an emotional tribute to Australian all-rounder Shane Watson who retired from all forms of cricket on Tuesday (November 3). Watson bid farewell to the sport after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after the Dhoni-led team ended their campaign in season thirteen of the IPL with a win over Kings Eleven Punjab. "Well done on an amazing career watto. You're a great cricketer but an even better human being. I'm glad we got to know each other better because of playing together. Wish you the best going forward and to your beautiful family. You can be very proud of your journey mate. See you. Cheers," he wrote in an Instagram story. Hailed as one of the most impactful all-rounders in the history of the IPL, Shane Watson was part of Rajasthan Royals (2008) and Chennai Super Kings (2018) teams which went onto lift the trophy. Watson was the batting spearhead for Chennai Super Kings in their title winning 2018 season, aggregating 555 runs in 15 matches. He notched up a game changing unbeaten century (117* off 57 balls) against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of the tournament. RCB lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals. Watson had bid adieu to international cricket in 2016 but continued playing in the cash rich T20 leagues around the world. In his decade long IPL career, Watson played for three teams - RR, RCB and CSK, amassing 3874 runs in 145 matches and picked up 92 wickets.
