IPL 2020, DC vs CSK: Resurgent Chennai Super Kings Look To Upset In-Form Delhi Capitals At Sharjah
The IPL 2020 CSK vs DC game to be played at the Sharjah Cricket Ground in Sharjah (UAE) is scheduled to commence at 7:30 pm (IST) with the toss slated to take place at 7:00 pm (IST).
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second game of the 'Super Saturday' weekend double header in the thirteenth edition of the IPL at Sharjah Cricket Ground in Sharjah (UAE) later on Saturday evening.
The IPL 2020 between CSK and DC is scheduled to commence at 7:30 pm (IST) with the toss slated to take place at 7:00 pm (IST).
Chennai Super Kings who were handed a 44-run defeat by Delhi Capitals when the two teams met in the season earlier on September 25, would look to avenge defeat by registering a win over Iyer and Co at Sharjah.
CSK who got off to a nightmarish start in the opening half of the tournament arrested a losing streak by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad and have given themselves a chance to still make it to the play-offs.
Delhi Capitals who are a place below the table toppers Mumbai Indians have one foot in the play-offs courtesy their 10 points in the bank. DC would look to continue their good run in the tournament by registering a win over CSK and inch closer to a play-off berth.
CSK's batting is finally coming good with Shane Watson and Ambati Rayadu coming back to form in their recent set of matches. The batting will once again revolve around the in-form batsman Faf Du Plessis. The all-round efforts of all-rounder Sam Curran with bat and bowl would have delighted the 'Yellow Army'
Experienced campaigners Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo will be critical to the fortunes of CSK in the middle order.
CSK would relish the fact that the wickets in UAE are getting slower and hence would look towards their spinners in Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma and Jadeja to exploit the conditions to their advantage. Meanwhile, Dhoni will once again rely on Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur to make the early breakthroughs.
Delhi Capitals got back to winning ways with a 13-run win over Rajasthan Royals. Shreyas Iyer-team had got a course correction with five wickets loss against Mumbai Indians on October 11.
DC are batting injury woes with their frontline wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant sidelined for a couple of games. They got yet another injury scare with skipper Shreyas Iyer sustaining an injury while landing awkwardly on his shoulder.
The mantle of Delhi's batting will lie on the shoulders of their opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw who are having a decent run with the bat in the tournament. It will have to be seen who forms part of the middle order with Ajinkya Rahane in the absence of Rishabh Pant and maybe Iyer.
Delhi Capitals bowling unit has been one of the most well rounded all through the tournament with seamers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje firing on all cylinders. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel have complimented the fast bowling unit by chipping in with economical spells in the middle overs.
