Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers bowled brilliantly, not letting Mumbai Indians to score some easy runs as they put out a clinical performance to restrict Mumbai Indians to 162 for five at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. The Sunrisers lethal bowling attack led by pacer Khaleel Ahmed (3-42) made it look that Rohit Sharma’s decision to bat first was wrong. While Basil Thampi (0-40) had a rough outing, Rashid Khan (0-21), Mohammed Nabi (1-24) and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (1-29) dished out a clinical performance. For Mumbai, South African Quinton De Kock (69* off 58 balls) hammered 6 fours and 2 sixes in his 58 ball-knock but didn’t get the required support from the other end. In the end overs, Krunal Pandya (9 not out off 3 balls) played an important cameo to ensured Mumbai at least put a fighting total on board. De Kock along with Surya Kumar Yadav (23 off 17 balls, 3x4, 1x6) tried to rally the Mumbai innings with a 54-run stand for the second wicket after a well-settled Rohit Sharma (24; 5 x4) departed in the fifth over. Surya gave Khaleel his second wicket after giving an easy catch to Rashid Khan in the 12th over, after which there was a middle-order collapse for Mumbai with Evin Lewis (1) and Hardik Pandya (18 off 10 balls) falling in quick succession. Even hard-hitting West Indian Kieron Pollard (10) also could not display his usual attacking game. Earlier, Rohit and De Kock added 36 runs for the first wicket, in which Rohit hit five fours. But leg-spinner Rashid Khan put the brakes on Mumbai's run-rate as he conceded a single in the fifth over.
