IPL 2019, KXIP vs CSK, Match 55: Rahul's heroics ensure 6-wicket win for Punjab

With nothing to lose in the final game of the season, KL Rahul (36-ball-71), Chris Gayle (28 off 28 balls) and Nicholas Pooran’s (36 off 22 balls) scintillating knocks ensured a six-wicket victory for Kings XI Punjab over Mumbai Indians at Mohali on Sunday. However, CSK ensured a top-two finish with chance to play the first IPL Qualifier at their home ground Chepauk. Harbhajan was far better in his final two overs as he took three wickets for 16 runs including Rahul, Gayle and Mayank Agarwal.

However Pooran played a cameo to ensure happy ending for the home team.

Earlier, Faf du Plessis (96 off 55) and Suresh Raina's (53 off 38) brilliant knocks powered Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to 170/5 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Mohali on Sunday. Raina and du Plessis anchored the innings, and played sensibly to further develop 120-run second wicket partnership and help CSK post a fighting total as their lower middle-order failed to contribute.
