Here the comes the night when MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to host the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk in the 23rd match of IPL 2019. Both the sides have won their respective last matches and will lock horns to gain the top spot on the points tally.
Moreover, it’s a clash of two powerhouses who have five titles between. They have played each other 19 times with Chennai having the edge winning 11 of those 19 clashes.
The Toss
CSK skipper MS Dhoni has opted to bowl first after winning the toss. they have decided to field an unchanged playing XI for today's game.
“We'll bowl first. We're getting consistent dew here over the last few days and so, we want to chase. Not much (regarding belief in player match ups. At the end of the day, you need to focus on your own strengths. If some of our bowlers are doing really well and has a good chance of getting a particular batsman out, we might try,” Dhoni said at the toss.
On the other hand, KKR are also playing an unchanged XI against Chennai.
“We would have bowled first as well due to the dew factor. But now that we're batting first, need to put runs on the board. Yes, the bowlers practise it a lot but it's not easy at all,” said Karthik.
