Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team Wins Gold In IBSA World Games After 9-Wicket Win Over Australia In Final
IBSA World Games: With this, the Indian Women's Blind cricket team became the first-ever cricket winners in the history of the tournament.
The Indian women's blind cricket team etched its name in history books as it won the gold medal in the IBSA World Games. The women's blind team achieved the feat when it registered a 9-wicket win over Australia in the final at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday (August 26). Even though it was a rain-affected fixture, the Indian side did not let that dampen their spirits and came out on top to become the first-ever cricket champions in the competition.
While Austalia managed 114/8 in the alloted 20 overs, India were chasing a target of 42 in 9 overs with the run coming in to play, a total which they managed to score in just 3.3 overs to emerge as the champions.

It has truly been an impressive campaign for India. While they started off with an eight-wicket win over Australia after restricting them to 59/6 before chasing down the target with ease. They then went on to beat England. This time around the Indian side had batted first and posted a massive 268/2 in their 20 overs. Gangavva H was the star performer for India in this fixture as she scored 117 runs off just 60 deliveries. India claimed a dominant 185-run win in this match. They continued their form throughout the tournament in the run up to the finals.

Meanwhile, the Indian men's blind cricket team is currently taking on their Pakistan counterpart in the final. The Indian men's side would also like to join the women's blind cricket team in bringing home a gold from Birmingham.
