Ashley Nurse likely to be ruled out of 5th ODI due to shoulder injury

No update on Ashley Nurse's fitness has been received yet. But the 29-year-old was seen using an arm-pouch to rest his shoulder on team's arrival in Thiruvananthapuram for the next game.

The West Indies on Tuesday received a huge blow ahead of the fifth and the final ODI against India, scheduled to be played on Thursday. One of their vital cogs in the series, Ashley Nurse, picked up a niggle in his shoulder in the previous match and is likely to be benched in Thiruvananthapuram.

Nurse experienced pain in his shoulder and looked in discomfort while bowling in 4th ODI.

As a result, he had to leave the field after bowling a few overs. On the other hand, skipper Jason Holder had to resort to the part-time services from Rovman Powell.

Soon he was back on the field and went on to bowl eight overs more, however, his struggle with his shoulder was completely visible. While batting, he failed to contribute much and could only muster eight runs before Kuldeep Yadav sent him back.

No update on his fitness has been received yet. But the 29-year-old was seen using a pouch to rest his hands on team's arrival in Thiruvananthapuram for the next game.

After winning the 3^rd ODI and levelling the series 1-1, West Indies went through a severe humiliation in the hands of men-in-blue in Mumbai. With some ferocious tons from Rohit Sharma (162) and Ambati Rayudu (100), India amassed 377 runs after batting first and later, went on to register their biggest victory at home – by 224 runs.
