'Hamare Pas Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf Nahi Hai': Rohit Sharma's Honest Take On Pakistan's Fiery Pace Trio

On the eve of India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match, Rohit Sharma was asked how India plans to tackle the fiery Pakistan bowling trio - one of the best pace units in the world at the moment.

IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023: India is all set to take on Pakistan in a blockbuster clash on Saturday (September 2) in Sri Lanka's Pallekele International Stadium, Kandy. Indian batters have never before faced Pakistan's fiery pace bowling trio of Harris Rauf, Naseem and Shaheen Afridi in an ODI match, however, over the last two years in T20Is, they have shown how lethal they can be with the white ball against the Men in Blue. On the eve of high-octane India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match, captain Rohit Sharma, key to his team's hopes at top order, was asked how India plans to tackle the fiery Pakistan bowling trio - one of the best pace units in the world at the moment. In reply, Rohit admitted that the Indian team doesn't have bowlers of their (Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf) quality to play in the nets.

"Dekhiye Net Main Hamara Pas Shaheen, Naseem, Aur Rauf Toh Hai Nahi. Hamare Pas Jo Bowlers Hai Uski Ko Leke Practice Karte Hai. Teeno Quality Bowler Hai And Teeno Aache Performance Kar Rahe Hai. Pakistan Ke Pas Hamesha se Quality Bowlers Rahe Hai. Unki Jo Strength Hai Vo Hame Pata Hai. Hame Apne Experience Use Karke Unhe Khelna Hai. (Look, we do not have Shaheen, Naseem, and Rauf to play in the nets. We can only prepare with the bowlers we have. They are quality bowlers and and all three are performing well. Pakistan has always had good bowlers. We have to use our experience to play them," said Rohit in the pre-match press conference.

India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match will be played between India and Pakistan today i.e. on Saturday (2nd September). India will kickstart their campaign in the tournament against Babar Azam-led Pakistan, while IND vs PAK match will be Pakistan's second match in the ongoing continental tournament. Pakistan played their first match against Nepal where they registered a thumping win by 238 runs
