The 35-year-old registered a duck in the first innings, but has repaid for the faith shown in him by the fans over the years by scoring a crucial 70-run knock, before getting dismissed on the last ball of Day 3 at the hands of Glenn Phillips, as India ended their Day 3 at 231/3.

However, with his dismissal, 'King Kohli' extends his barren run of centuries in Tests, as Indian Cricket Team (ICT) fans await his 81st International ton. The last time Virat Kohli scored a Test ton was back in July 2023, during the 2nd Test match against West Indies.

Since then, the modern era great has managed merely two fifties in 10 innings, and his last international ton came during the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, when he scored 117 against New Zealand in the semi-final 1, and in the process, overtaking Sachin Tendulkar as the batsman with most ODI centuries, and first-ever cricketer in the history to score 50 ODI tons.
