India vs England 3rd Test Day 4 Preview: India aim for early finish

New Delhi: R Ashwin was once again on fire as he sent English captain Alastair Cook back to pavilion and assured rest would follow. The 30-year-old has already clinched three wickets and awaits another 5 wicket haul.  England struggle at 78/4 at the end of day 3 and India will look to wrap up the English side as early as possible at the IS Bindra stadium in Mohali.

It was an entertaining game of cricket on day 3 and day 4 doesn’t seem to be less action oriented either. England batsman hunt for one partnership which can give them the breakthrough and much depends on Joe Root, who has shown the ability to tackle the Indian spin attack. Root is unbeaten on 36 and England will hope their star man to hold his nerve and guide them to a comfortable position.

The 26-year-old stood firm at the crease while others rushed back to the dressing room. Gareth Batty was sent to the crease to watch the night after Ben stokes’ dismissal but is yet to open his account. England still have some batting left in their ranks, with Hameed, Jos Butler and Chris Woakes to come in the lower order.

England trail India by 56 runs with 6 wickets remaining and visitors have huge mountain to climb. They will need their lower middle order to save this game as they are staring down the barrel.
