India vs Australia 1st T20: Rohit Sharma eyeing to break Chris Gayle's GIANT record
Rohit still needs 65 more runs to become the leading run-getter in the T20I format surpassing Guptill’s tally of 2271
While India is gearing up for locking horns with the Aussies in the 1st T20I on Wednesday, vice-captain Rohit Sharma is eyeing a remarkable milestone to reach during his 1st outing in Australian conditions. The 31-year-old is 4 sixes away from getting 100 maximums in the shortest format of the game.
Rohit currently has 96 sixes against his name and stands 3rd in the over-all list which is, undoubtedly, being ruled by the ‘Universe Boss’, Chris Gayle. The Caribbean hard-hitter has knocked 103 sixes so far in 56 T20I matches.
After Gayle, it’s New Zealand opener Martin Guptill who has as many sixes against his name but he took 75 games to reach this feat.
The third position is owned by the HITMAN of Indian cricket. He has smashed 96 maximums in 87 matches and is currently the highest run-scorer in men’s T20Is with 2207 runs. He is the only Indian in the top 5 cricketers with most sixes in the shortest format of cricket while veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh stands 10th with 74 sixes from 58 matches.

Rohit still needs 65 more runs to become the leading run-getter in the T20I format surpassing Guptill’s tally of 2271. If he manages to score those many runs and smash 4 or more sixes, he could surpass both Guptill and Gayle to become the ruler of T20I format.
