Trains Delayed As Cold Wave Continues To Sweep Delhi, Light Rainfall Likely Today
Delhi faces severe cold wave, with dense fog causing train delays. The India Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and smog. The air quality of Delhi remains in the "very poor" category.
Amid the ongoing chilly winter in the north India, Delhi is one of the worst affected states as dense fog and cold wave continues to grip the national capital.

As per the data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded 11.4 degrees Celsius in the early morning on Monday. The weather bureau has predicted 'a generally cloudy sky with light rain' for the city on Monday.
As the cold wave gripped Delhi, several trains were reported to be running late at New Delhi railway station.

However, the flight operations were normal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

At night, people were seen taking refuge in night shelter homes in the city.

The weather bureau has predicted 'a generally cloudy sky with light rain' for the city. As per its forcast, Delhi is likely to witness smog/moderate fog in most places with dense fog in a few places. It has also predicted possibility of very light rain to light rain accompanied with thunderstorms in the morning. The maximum and minuimum temperatures in the city is expected to be around 18 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius respectively.
On air quality index, the national capital continued to be in the 'very poor' category as the AQI stood at 316 in the morning, as per the data from the Central Pollution Control Board.
