Clash Erupts Between Jan Suraaj Party Supporters & Police Over Prashant Kishor's Detention — WATCH

After Prashant Kishor was detained by the police, a massive clash erupted between Jan Suraaj Party supporters and the police in Patna.

A clash broke out between Jan Suraaj Party supporters and the police after party founder Prashant Kishor, who is on an indefinite hunger strike at Gandhi Maidan was detained on Monday. Supporters were caught shoving the police who were then trying to bring the situation under control.

The Jan Suraaj Party said the police had taken Prashant Kishor to AIIMS. They added that Kishor had been isolated from all the people however, he has refused any treatment and continues his hunger strike.

Political strategist-turned-politician Kishor started an indefinite hunger strike on January 2 in Patna, over the ongoing row over the alleged paper leak in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination.

Kishor, who earlier joined the students' agitation in Patna, began his hunger strike under the Gandhi statue in Gandhi Maidan against the poor condition of BPSC students and the education system in Bihar. He said his primary demand was “cancellation of the exam held on December 13 and conducting a fresh test.” He said he heard “allegations that posts to be filled by the exam were virtually put on sale”.

The venue of Kishor's protest was a couple of kilometres away from Gardani Bagh where the aggrieved aspirants were holding a round-the-clock sit-in for nearly two weeks.  On Sunday (January 5), amid dense fog post-midnight at around 1:00 AM, Kishor extended his solidarity and was seen protesting along with the students who have been demanding the cancellation of the BPSC examination.

Earlier, Yadav on Saturday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of politicising the issue of BPSC protest. Speaking to ANI, he accused the independent movement of students of being politicised and said that these people joining the protest were the B team of the BJP.
