Jasprit Bumrah's Return Expected, Prasidh Krishna Likely to Miss Out

Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the Edgbaston Test to manage workload, but captain Shubman Gill confirmed post-match that Bumrah will play at Lord’s. His return means Prasidh Krishna is likely to sit out.

Akash Deep to Retain His Spot

Akash Deep, who made his debut in Bumrah’s absence, impressed everyone by picking up 10 wickets in the Edgbaston Test. His match-winning performance is expected to secure his place in the playing XI. His consistent line and ability to exploit the English conditions make him a key asset for the Lord’s Test.

Changes Expected in the All-Rounder Slot

Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was included in place of Shardul Thakur, failed to make an impact with either bat or ball. The team management might look to replace him with Kuldeep Yadav for a spin option or Arshdeep Singh to add variety with left-arm pace.

India might opt for two all-rounders while including one specialist bowler, considering the key contributions of Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar in both departments.

Middle Order Faces Heat

Karun Nair, who has posted scores of 0, 20, 31, and 26 in the series so far, hasn’t lived up to expectations. B Sai Sudharsan could be a potential replacement, although this switch seems unlikely at the moment.

Dhruv Jurel and Abhimanyu Easwaran are also in the squad, but they may have to wait longer for their chance unless an injury occurs.
