WATCH: Jadeja dedicates his maiden ton to his late mother

Jadeja scored an unbeaten century on the second day of the first Test in Rajkot against the West Indies, due to which India's innings reached 649 on 9 wickets

After spending almost a decade in international cricket, spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja (100 runs from 132 balls) made his maiden century. Jadeja scored an unbeaten century on the second day of the first Test in Rajkot against the West Indies, due to which India's innings reached 649 on 9 wickets.

He eventually achieved this feat against the West Indies on his home ground and dedicated this innings to his late mother.

While wickets kept falling at regular intervals, Jadeja presented some extraordinary piece of batting and posted 50 runs in 87 balls. With his 10th fifty, there came out the epic sword which he waved in the air.

After the second day's game was over, Jadeja told reporters, "It is special because before I reached 80 and 90, I was dismissed. Today I was not worried and wanted to play some kind of loose shot. I talked to Umesh and Shami and told myself that I have to play till the century is over."

"When you are not playing regularly, there is pressure. You want to take advantage of every opportunity. I thought this in England too. My batting and bowling were good in the Asia Cup. ", he added.

In the last one month, Jadeja did not only well in the only Test (fifth and final) played in England but also returned to form in ODIs.
