India pacer Mohammed Siraj was involved in a heated exchange of words with Sri Lanka batter Kusal Mendis in the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka ODI match. India are up against Sri Lanka in the third IND vs SL ODI at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 7 (Wednesday). India are trailing the series 0-1 after Sri Lanla tied the first ODI and then managed to win the second by 32 runs.
In the 39th over of the first innings, Mohammed Siraj started the over with three consecutive dot balls. On the third delivery, he bowled a skidding ball, which stayed low. Kusal Mendis managed to lower his bat just in time to keep it out. After this, two players exchanged some words. As they moved closer to each other, Siraj hurled a few words at the Sri Lankan batter, who in turn said a few words back to Siraj.

Mohammed Siraj Takes Wicket In The Same Over
Notably, Siraj claimed a wicket on the fifth ball of the same over by dismissing Sadeera Samarawickrama LBW with a brilliant reverse-swinging yorker. Samarawickrama, batting on a duck, was surprised by the delivery that hit the blockhole. Initially, the umpire denied the appeal, thinking it was bat first, but Siraj and Kohli were confident it was leg first. Rohit Sharma, initially uncertain, took the DRS at the last moment, which proved to be a masterstroke as replays showed the ball hit the boot first, leading to the decision being overturned. Sri Lanka lost their fourth wicket, and shortly after, Washington Sundar claimed another wicket, reducing Sri Lanka from 171-1 to 196-5.
