IND vs PAK Highlights, Women's Asia Cup 2024: In a clinical performane led by Deepti Sharma and India's opener, Women in Blue thrashed Pakistan by 7 wickets in Dambulla.

IND vs PAK Highlights, Women's Asia Cup 2024: India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in their group-stage match of the Women's Asia Cup 2024 at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka on Friday (July 19). It was a comprehensive performance by the Women in Blue. While Pakistan captain Nida Dar won the toss and elected to bat first, it did not go as per the plan as the Women in Green were bowled out for 108. 

For India, it was a clinical performance through and through as their bowling effort was led by Deepti Sharma who scalped 3 wickets for 20 runs in her 4 overs. Pooja Vastrakar, Renuka Singh and Shreyanka Patil shared two wickets apiece while Pakistan's Syeda Aroob Shah fell to a run-out.

Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana Help India Off To Brisk Start As India Chases Down Total With Ease

India never looked in any sort of trouble chasing 109 for victory. India's opener Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma got them off to a splendid start, putting on 85 runs for the first inside 10 overs before Mandhana fell to Syeda Aroob Shah for 45 off 31. Dayalan Hemalatha then joind Verma in the middle and took India close with a flurry of boundaries.

Verma was also at her fluent best for India during her 29-ball 40 but fell near finish line with the scoreboard reading 100. Syeda Aroob Shah got the second wicket again for Pakistan and barring her no other Pakistani bowler managed to produce a wicket until Nashra Sandhu got rid of Hemalatha for 14 off 11.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India would be happy with the result as India would be now face United Arab Emirates in their next match on July 21. Pakistan also play their next match on the same date but will face Nepal.
