Day After Explosion, Delhi School In Same Area Receives Bomb Threat
Police, the bomb disposal squad, and the dog squad, along with DFS personnel checked and searched the entire premises of the school.
A bomb threat was received via email at Venkateshwar Global School in Rohini, Delhi, on Friday. The school administration took the precautionary measure of evacuating the premises and informed the authorities. The source of the threatening email is being traced to identify the sender.
The threat was declared a hoax after a thorough search of the school premises, Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials told PTI. A call was received from the Delhi Police about the bomb threat email at 10.57 am. A team of the DFS immediately reached the spot. Police, bomb disposal squad, and dog squad, along with DFS personnel checked and searched the entire premises of the school, the officer said. No suspicious object was found and the threat was declared a hoax, the officer added.
This Delhi school bomb threat incident follows a low-intensity blast near a cinema hall in Rohini on Thursday, which left one person injured. The incident occurred nearly 40 days after an explosion at a CRPF school in the same area. Yesterday's blast took place about 500 meters from the CRPF school, where a powerful explosion on October 20 had ripped through its wall.
