IND vs ENG 3rd Test: 5 Indian Players Who Hold Key To Lord's Test Win

Several players have already made their mark in the series, and all eyes will once again be on these five key performers who could turn the tide in India’s favor.

Team India registered a massive 336-run victory over England in the second Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham, making history by securing their first-ever Test win at the venue.

With the five-match series now level at 1-1, the focus now shifts to the third Test at Lord’s, where India will look to take the lead

Several players have already made their mark in the series, and all eyes will once again be on these five key performers who could turn the tide in India’s favor.

1. Shubman Gill – Captain in Command

Shubman Gill, leading India for the first time in Test cricket, has made an unforgettable start to his captaincy tenure.

His form with the bat has been exceptional. Gill began the series with a century in the first Test and followed it up with a breathtaking 269 in the first innings and 161 in the second innings of the Edgbaston Test. With confidence running high, Gill will be crucial to India’s hopes at Lord’s, where another big knock could almost guarantee victory.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal – Consistent and Fearless

Yashasvi Jaiswal has shown remarkable form throughout the England tour so far. He notched up a century in the opening Test and added an impressive 87 runs in the first innings of the second match.

Jaiswal’s aggressive yet controlled style has provided solid starts for the team. As India gears up for the Lord’s Test, his partnership with KL Rahul at the top will once again be vital in setting the tone.

3. Rishabh Pant – The Game-Changer in the Middle Order

Rishabh Pant continues to prove why he’s such a valuable asset in Test cricket. In the first Test, he made history by scoring centuries in both innings, showcasing his flair and match-winning ability.

In the Edgbaston Test, he played a quickfire knock that strengthened India’s position. Pant’s fearless batting, especially in pressure situations, will once again be key if India hopes to dominate at Lord’s.

4. Akash Deep – The New Bowling Sensation

Akash Deep’s performance at Edgbaston will go down as one of the best by an Indian fast bowler on English soil. He picked up 4 wickets in the first innings and then went on to take 6 wickets in the second, completely rattling the English batting order. Alongside Gill’s batting heroics, Akash Deep’s bowling spell was instrumental in India’s historic win.

5. Jasprit Bumrah – Set for a Return?

Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the second Test but could return to the playing XI for the third. He made a strong impact in the opening match with a five-wicket haul in the first innings. If he plays at Lord’s, his experience and ability to strike at crucial moments will be a massive boost for the team.
