IND vs BAN: Kohli & Co To Train Under Lights In Indore Ahead Of D/N Test
MPCA has agreed to make the required arrangements at Indore’s Holkar Stadium where team India is set to play their first Test against Bangla Tigers that begins from November 14
In order to prepare for their maiden Day-Night Test in Kolkata, the Indian team management has requested the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) to organise for training under lights for Virat Kohli and boys.
In reply, the association has agreed to make the required arrangements at Indore’s Holkar Stadium where team India is set to play their first Test against Bangla Tigers that begins from November 14.
As reported by IANS, former MPCA secretary Milind Kanmadikar has confirmed the same and said that the association is more than happy to help the players adapt to the pink ball in Indore.
“We got a request from the Indian team that they want to train under lights with an eye on the pink ball Test, so we are going to arrange for the same,” he said.
India will take on Bangladesh in the first-ever D-N Test at Eden Gardens from November 22-26. The Bangladesh Cricket Board agreed to BCCI's proposal for the Test match under lights.
Notably, India and Bangladesh along with Afghanistan and Ireland are the only teams to have not played a day-night Test yet. Since the 1st-ever day-night Test between Australia and New Zealand in 2015, 11 more have been played.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will mark the formal commencement of the historic event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been sent an invitation to grace the landmark moment.
