IND vs BAN, 1st T20I: Proud Mushfiqur Rahim Dedicates Historic Fifty To His Son
After taking a 1-0 lead over India, Rahim now wants to seal the three-match series as he is looking forward to winning the second T20I
Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim has played many crucial innings before in his 5th T20I fifty against India, which came against India on Sunday, is going to stand out. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman played an unbeaten knock of 60 runs that powered his team to a 7-wicket win against Rohit Sharma & Co in Delhi.
Rahim single-handedly buried the ghosts of Bangalore clash in 2016 World T20 and scripted history for his countrymen to cherish. It was the first-ever victory for the Tigers against the men-in-blue in the shortest format of the game. After the game, Rahim dedicated the half-century to his son.
“I want to dedicate this win or this knock to my son and I really miss him a lot. He is growing really fast and he can recognise when he sees me on the TV and that is really special. So, I want to dedicate this half-century to my son,” Rahim said in the post-match press conference.
After taking a 1-0 lead over India, Rahim now wants to seal the three-match series as he is looking forward to winning the second T20I.
“We have come here to compete in each and every game. As long as you are playing consistent cricket and improving in each game - that is our main goal. After winning this game we are surely looking forward to winning another game, hopefully, the next game,” he said.
“We won, but there are a couple of areas we can improve in. If we improve in those areas and play much better than what we did tonight then I think there is nothing impossible in the next game. We will try our level best to compete against India,” Rahim added.
The second T20I between both teams will be played on November 7.
