IND vs AUS, 3rd Test, Day 4: Australia Declare On 312/6, India Need 407 To Win

India v Australia, 3rd Test: Cameron Green fell for 84 as Australia declared their innings on 312/6, setting India 407 runs to win the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

On day 4 of India vs Australia, 3rd test Australia were in the driving seat against India in the ongoing match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The hosts lead by 406 runs. Steve Smith registered a half-century and was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin after scoring 81 runs. Ashwin bowled a nice tossed up ball around off, got it to turn a bit towards Smith. Steven came on the front foot to defend but the ball spinped past him and rapped him flush on the pads. Rahane took the review immediately and India got the wicket 130 runs scored with Cameron Green really turning on the heat. The session began with Ashwin's success, but as Rohit dropped Paine at first slip, the floodgates opened. Paine and Green did not hold back and played some aggressive shots with Green scoring his maiden Test half-century. He smacked four sixes and was closing on on what could have been a maiden Test ton. Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne registered his second half-century of this Test match, but lost his wicket to Navdeep Saini. Matthew Wade could also muster only four runs before Saini dismissed him. Navdeep Saini snared two wickets for India and returned 2/47. The hosts will be aiming to extend their lead and set up a win in the third Test match. Mohd Siraj again faces racial abuse In between, a few spectators were ejected out of the stadium for mouthing a few words at Siraj again on day 4 of the Sydney Test. Team India's fast bowlers Jasprit Burmah and Mohammed Siraj have faced racial abuse from the crowd during the 3rd day of the match and after this, the Indian cricket team have lodged its official complaint with match referee David Boon. Indian team is already facing major trouble after constant injuries to its players during the tour of Australia. Now, the thumb injury of Ravindra Jadeja has further deepened team India's crisis in the 3rd Test. The all-rounder got hurt while batting on Day 3 of Ind vs Aus Sydney Test. As per a report in TOI, Jadeja might not play India vs Australia 4th Test in Brisbane. According to PTI, this left-handed all-rounder was taken for scans and as per the medical report, his thumb has been dislocated and fractured as well.
