Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, accompanied by Ifthikar Ahmad, Hasan Ali, Usama Mir, Haris Rauf and Agha Salman, members of the Pakistan's cricket team taking part in the World Cup 2023, played a pivotal role in advocating for child rights and gender equality.
They actively took part in the ICC Cricket4Good event, collaborating with 50 children from Karnataka at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium. This initiative was part of a broader global effort orchestrated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and UNICEF to champion these essential causes and rally support for gender equality, utilising the hashtag #BeAChampion.
The event exemplified the essence of teamwork, as all ten participating teams conducted clinics in various Indian cities in the lead-up to the 'One Day 4 Children' match between India and Sri Lanka, scheduled for November 2 at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Cricket4Good, the ICC's outreach program, is dedicated to harnessing cricket's immense influence to empower women and girls.
