I Struggled To Hold Tears When Mahi Bhai Got Out In WC 2019 Semi-Finals: Yuzvendra Chahal

Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal revealed what he felt on seeing Dhoni return back to pavilion after his run-out in WC 2019 semi-finals vs Kiwis

New Zealand defeated India by 18 runs in the first semifinal of WC 2019 to secure a berth in the grand finale of the marquee event. Defending a 239-run total, the Kiwis bowled out India for 221. India got off to a nightmarish start losing three of their the top order batsman in quick succession. Reeling at 5/3 India Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya showed some resistance but both of them played rash shots to throw away their wickets. In came MS Dhoni and staged a good recovery with Ravindra Jadeja notching a 116-run stand. However, Jadeja holed one up in the air off Boult and lost his wicket. Martin Guptill then produced a brilliant run-out to send Dhoni back to the pavilion. With the run-rate piling up it was too much of a task for the Indian tail-enders to pull off the chase. Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal revealed what he felt on seeing Dhoni return back to pavilion after his run-out. "It was my 1st World Cup and when Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) got out and I was going in (to bat), I was trying to hold back my tears. It was so depressing. We played so well for 9 games but suddenly we were going out of the tournament. The rain wasn't in our hands and so it won't be right to say anything (about the interruption). It was the first time that we really wanted to go back to the hotel as soon as possible from the ground.", Chahal said at India Today Mind Rocks Youth Summit. Talking about his future plans, Chahal said,"I want to continue for 5-6 years. I want to win at least one World Cup. I think the way we have been playing and how our team is shaping up currently, its a positive sign. We won in New Zealand, Australia and West Indies and if we win the T20 World Cup next year, all the noise will die down."
