'Hi Dadda': Usman Khawaja's Daughters Laud The Batter After He Scores Century In 4th Test Vs India

Khawaja also built a 208-run fifth-wicket partnership with Green and put the visitors in a commanding position at Narendra Modi Stadium.

Australia’s explosive opener Usman Khawaja is in the headlines after his brilliant batting in the ongoing fourth Test against India of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Ahmedabad. The left-hander batter scored 180 runs and helped Australia reach 480 in the first innings.

Khawaja also built a 208-run fifth-wicket partnership with Green and put the visitors in a commanding position at Narendra Modi Stadium. Post Khawaja’s heroics, many cricket pundits started lauding him for his massive knock. But Usman’s biggest compliment came from his daughters as his wife took to social media and posted a picture where his daughters were spotted cheering him.

"Uzzys littlest supporters here at home cheering him on! Hi Dadda," wrote Usman Khawaja's wife Rachel.

Earlier, speaking after the game Khawaja said, “It was a mental battle more than anything else. You need to keep doing it for a long time. I had the helmet in my right hand, I told him (Green) just give me a hug, instead of a high five (following his century). I have no superstitions, I stretched a bit in the morning and I was ready to go."

Khawaja’s marathon knock came to end post Tea when left-arm spinner Axar Patel snared him lbw. Cameron Green also batted really well and registered his first Test century against India before Ashwin trapped him. The veteran spinner was the star with the ball for India, picking six wickets on a batting-friendly pitch at the world's biggest cricket stadium.

India in reply are batting at 145/1 with Shubman Gill getting his half-century. Pujara is batting alongside him as they are trailing by 335 runs. Skipper Rohit Sharma failed to make it big as he was sent to the pavilion on the score of 35 runs.
