New Delhi: India’s star performer in ICC WWC 2017, all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur has been ruled out of the forthcoming Women's Super Series in England due to a shoulder injury.

Kaur was supposed to play for Surrey Stars in the T20 competition to be held in between August 10 and September 1 but the 28-year-old middle-order batswoman has been advised a month's rest followed by a rehabilitation after an MRI scan conducted last week, confirmed a tear in the cricketer's left shoulder.

Kaur admitted that she wasn't in good shape in the later stages of the World Cup.

"I was in bad shape in the later stages of the World Cup but the physios got me going. It would have been great to be a part of Kia League. I had a successful stint with Sydney Thunder in Women's Big Bash League [WBBL] which lifted my game and confidence.I was really looking forward to playing alongside England's World Cup winning cricketers - Natalie Sciver, Tammy Beaumont, Laura Marsh and Alex Hartley," Harman said in an interview to Hindustan Times.

The attacking right hander had a remarkable performance in the recently concluded Women’s World Cup in which India ended up as runner ups. Her whirlwind knock of 171* against defending champions Australia in the semi-final helped Women In Blue reach their second world cup final where they suffered a heartbreaking defeat of 9 runs by the hands of the hosts.
