Hardik Pandya Wipes Tears During National Anthem In 1st T20I Against West Indies. Picture Goes Viral
Leading the side with selectors deciding to overlook Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Hardik was seen wiping his tears when the national anthem was played before the first IND vs WI T20I.
India started their T20I series against West Indies with a 4-run win over India. While the home team had posted 149/6 in their 20 overs, the Indian side managed 145/9 to go 1-0 down in the five match series. The match was played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba in Trinidad. However, one visual that has gone viral from the match is that of Hardik Pandya getting emotional when the national anthem was played before the start of the match.
Leading the side with selectors deciding to overlook Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Hardik was seen wiping his tears. The Indian all-rounder had also led the team in the second and the third ODIs in which both Rohit and Virat were rested. The image of Hardik fighting his emotions has gone viral on social media.

Talking about the match, West Indies won the toss and chose to bat first. Captain Rovman Powell (48 off 32) top-scored for the home team while Nicholas Pooran (41 off 34) and Brandon King (28 off 19) were the other significant contributors. Arshdeep Singh picked 2 for 31 for India while Yuzvendra Chahal finished with figures of 2 for 24. Hardik and Kuldeep Yadav picked up a wicket apiece.

In response, India lost early wickets with Shubman Gill getting out in the third over itself with just 5 runs on the scoreboard. The visitors kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. In the end, even though debutant Tilak Varma scored 39, the Men in Blue fell short by 4 runs. India and West Indies will lock horns for the second T20I on Sunday (August 6) at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
Earlier, India had won the Test series 1-0 while managing to clinch the ODI series 2-1.
