For Gambhir and Rahul have played in the IPL. While Rahul has played for teams like the Pune Warriors India (PWI) in the past, Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles. India's 2011 World Cup final hero is currently serving as the Team Mentor of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who are doing reasonably well in IPL 2023 so far. They are currently at the third place in the tally with 11 points from 11 matches with a net run rate of +0.294. With three matches to go, the team would ideally want to accumulate all the six points on offer to have a chance of finishing inside the top two.
For the unversed, the sides that finish inside top two get an extra chance in the Playoffs in case they have a bad game which is the added motivation and reward for the most consistent sides in the league stage of the tournament. Currently, the top two spots are being occupied by Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with 16 and 13 points respectively. However, there is expected to be a lot of shuffle as the league stage gradually nears its end.
