'Forget All That': Ravi Shastri's Straightforward Verdict On Virat Kohli's Dismissal In AUS Test
Virat Kohli made 12 off 26 balls in Nagpur. He has struggled to play against the spinners in his last few outings. The 34-year-old smashed four centuries in international cricket since September 2022.
The Indian team batted well in the series opener of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy but Virat Kohli again failed to score in the 1st innings as he was sent to the pavilion spinner Murphy on Day 2. It was a huge moment for the talented spinner of Australia when he dismissed Kohli.
Former India coach Ravi Shastri analyzed Kohli’s dismissal and told Star Sports,” That's unlucky. That's strangled down the leg side. I mean once in 50 innings he will get out in that fashion. Let's not talk about technique or an off-spinner getting him out. Forget all that. He is out, bad luck, but it was the right thing from Australia's point of view because they needed a wicket. Straight up after that, you get the momentum going”.

Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma completed a splendid hundred in the 1st Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Vidarbha Cricket Association in Nagpur on Friday. The Hitman achieved the feat on Day 2 of the Test match. After the Men in Blue bowled out the opposition for 177 in the first innings, Rohit led from the front in India's response and even though wickets fell around him on a difficult track to play, especially against the spinners, the 35-year-old stayed determined and ready to fight it out.
