New Delhi: The Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinal between Jharkhand and Bengal slated to take place in Palam has been postponed as fire broke out in Jharkhand’s team hotel at Dwarka.

The situation sparked off an alarm as former India captain MS Dhoni was also present in the team hotel along with the entire Jharkhand team.

The fire was brought under control at 7.50 am after a call was made to the DFS around 6:30 regarding fire inside Welcome hotel in sector 10 Dwarka. 30 fire stations were sent on the spot, says Delhi fire services.

The extent of damages caused by the fire was unknown. However, sources confirmed that Kit bags of the Jhakrhand players were damaged.

The semifinal will take place on Saturday as Jhakrhand players were no state of mind to play.

Jharkhand reached the semifinal after registering an easy 6-wicket win in the quarterfinal against Vidarbha on Wednesday.
