England Tour Of India 2024: Ben Stokes Named Captain Of 16-Man Squad For IND vs ENG Five Tests

England tour of India, Test series: The 16-member squad announced by the England Cricket Board (ECB) on Monday (Dec 11) includes three players yet to make their international debut.

England squad for IND vs ENG Test series: Premier England all-rounder Ben Stokes is set to captain a 16-member squad for the upcoming IND vs ENG five-Test series, starting early next year in January. England is scheduled to tour India for a five-Test series, from January 25 to March 11. The 16-member squad announced by the England Cricket Board (ECB) on Monday (Dec 11) includes three players yet to make their international debut.

The England Test squad for the upcoming INDIA vs ENGLAND five-match Test series includes three uncapped players: fast bowler Gus Atkinson from Surrey, along with off-spinners Tom Hartley from Lancashire and Shoaib Bashir from Somerset.

England's squad announcement for IND vs ENG Test series 2024 also marks the return of Rehan Ahmed, who made his Test debut for England against Pakistan, last December.

Veteran pacer James Anderson is a notable inclusion in England's squad, contributing to a well-balanced mix of experience and youth, especially after Stuart Broad's retirement earlier this year. Fast bowler Gus Atkinson has earned a call-up, joining the likes of Mark Wood, James Anderson and Ollie Robinson in fortifying England's pace battery for the upcoming IND vs ENG Test series.

Notably, England has opted for a four-man spin attack, including Jack Leach and Rehan Ahmed, to strengthen their spin bowling options on Indian pitches.

England squad for IND vs ENG Test series: Ben Stokes (captain), Rehan Ahmed, James Anderson, Gus Atkinson , Jonny Bairstow, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook , Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett , Ben Foakes, Tom Hartley , Jack Leach , Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Mark Wood
