Kohli speaks on his chances to play 3rd Test after suffering back pain

India will take on England in the 3rd Test on Saturday at tent Bridge, Nottingham.

Apart from the overcast conditions and disappointing batting performance, team India came across yet another problem to worry about at Lord’s. It was Virat Kohli’s back pain which pulled him off the field on day 3 and later, bothered the only man in form while he was batting on a penultimate day.

After India lost the game by an innings and 149 runs, it was a question that how bad Kohli’s injury is. Replying to this question, the Indian skipper said, “As of now it is sore. I am not hiding that fact, but that is part of the game. I had to do what I could do to go there, bat again and try my best.”

“It happened during the latter half of the last leg of the South Africa tour when I missed a T20 game because that was very sudden. It happened one day before. The good thing is I have five days before the next Test,” he added.

Relying on team physio and his medical assistance, Kohli feels that he would be ready ahead of the next game but there might be some change in the intensity.

“We are confident with rehab and strengthening I should be ready for the next game although not (with) the same intensity in the field. But I should be good enough to hold a position in the field and be 100 per cent with the bat,” said the Indian captain.

After tasting the most humiliating Test loss ever under Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket team will take on England in the 3rd Test on Saturday at tent Bridge, Nottingham.
