Cricketer Krunal Pandya Stopped At Mumbai Airport For Possession Of Undisclosed Amount Of Gold

The cricketer was found with an undisclosed amount of gold, including 2 gold bracelets, some expensive watches, and many valuables, which was not declared.

Mumbai: Indian cricketer Krunal Pandya was stopped by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai, over suspicion of being in possession of undisclosed gold and other valuables, while returning from UAE. According to reports, the intelligence agency has recovered more than the allowed amount of gold from the Indian cricketer. According to DDR sources, the cricketer was found with an undisclosed amount of gold, including 2 gold bracelets, some expensive watches, and many valuables, which was not declared. As per the rules, the Indian government has allowed the male passengers to carry 20 grams of gold jewelry which should not exceed the cost of Rs 50,000 while the female passengers can carry up to 40 grams of gold jewelry not exceeding Rs 1,00,000. Duty free conditions are applicable only to gold jewelry. The duty has to be paid on gold coins and biscuits. Brother of Cricketer Hardik Pandya, Krunal is part of the Mumbai Indians team since his IPL debut in 2016. Till now Krunal has played 55 matches and has scored 891 runs and has taken 40 wickets so far. The cricketer’s best score in the IPL is 86. Krunal's team Mumbai Indians won the title for the second consecutive year by defeating Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the final match. After the IPL, the member's Indian cricket team left for Australia, while the rest of the players returned home.
