During IPL 2018, the former captain scored 455 runs with a strike rate of 150.66 while playing for Chennai Super Kings. Few months ago, Dhoni’s close friend and manager Arun Pandey revealed that the veteran is in no mood to back off from a shot at the World Cup next year.
The former skipper’s role as an ODI batsman came under scanner after he struggled to contribute runs with the bat. The 37-year-old was able to score a half-century almost a year ago against Sri Lanka.
Dhoni featured in the ODI series against West Indies but was dropped from the T20I series thereafter. He also didn’t get to play in the Australia T20Is; however, his return in the ODIs is expected next year.
