Fate Of Ganguly, Shah As BCCI Office-Bearers To Be Decided On December 9 In SC

The matter has been pending before the apex court since September but this is for the first time that the court has given a proper date to hear.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah's fate on their tenure will be decided on December 9 after the Supreme Court listed the matter before a three member bench of Justice L Nageshwar Rao for 'final hearing'.

Both president and secretary tenure as per original Lodha recommendations and BCCI constitution are over according to mandatory two-year cooling off clause after combined six-year tenure at state and/or board.

Ganguly And Shah Continued As BCCI Office-Bearers Despite Finishing Their Respective Terms In July and May

However, BCCI had filed for review over the cooling off clause amongst other 12 changes also sought . Ganguly and Jay Shah, as per legal opinion, have continued to operate during the period.

The matter has been pending before the apex court since September but this is for the first time that the court has given a proper date to hear.

It remains to be seen if the court hears it in finality and reserves order to put an end to the reforms pushed in 2014 or will status quo remains.
