Asia Cup 2018: Shakib returns as Bangladesh announce 15-man squad
Bangladesh is scheduled to kickstart the tournament on September 15 where they will face Sri Lanka in the opener.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2018, beginning from September 15 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who was expected to skip the tournament due to a surgery on his injured finger, has now been included in the side. Shakib sustained the injury during the tri-nation series including Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in Bangladesh earlier this year.
Three major changes have been made in the team which defeated West Indies earlier this year.
All-rounder Sabbir Rahaman has been ruled out as he landed in a state of trouble after abusing fan on social media. Anamul Haque and Abu Jayed have also been left out following their poor forms.
On the other hand, Ariful Haque, who featured in the T20Is against West Indies, has got the maiden ODI call-up.
