Ashes Has Kept Test Cricket Alive: Sourav Ganguly

After loosing the opening match against arch-rivals Australia by 251-runs in the Ashes opener at Edgbaston, the newly crowned world champs failed to get their revenge in the Lord's Test

Despite the rains which halted most of the game-play in the Ashes 2019, ferocious bowling from emerging star Jofra Archer, a brilliant hundred from flamboyant all-rounder Ben Stokes and a gritty knock from Australia's super-sub, highlighted a thrilling finish to a captivating second Test of the Ashes 2019. After loosing the opening match against arch-rivals Australia by 251-runs in the Ashes opener at Edgbaston, the newly crowned world champs failed to get their revenge in the Lord's Test as the nervy-battle ended in a draw on the final day. Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is mighty impressed with the standard of cricket being played in the ongoing Ashes Test series. The Bengal Cricket Boss believes its now up to the other teams to raise their standard and keep the red-ball cricket alive. "The Ashes series has kept Test cricket alive...up to rest of the world to raise their standard," Ganguly tweeted late on Sunday. With a 1-0 lead for the visitors, Australia and England will now lock horns in the third Test beginning Thursday at Headingley, Leeds.
