BCCI on Anil Kumble 51st Birthday: Today is the 51st birthday of Anil Kumble, India's great leg-spinner and former Team India coach, popularly known as 'Jumbo'. The BCCI has congratulated Kumble on the occasion in a very special way. The board posted a video of Kumble's historic 10-wicket spell in an innings against Pakistan on its social media account and congratulated him. Kumble achieved the feat in Pakistan's second innings in a Test match played in Delhi in 1999. Kumble became the second bowler in the world to achieve the feat of taking 10 wickets. The first time this feat was performed by England off-break bowler Jim Laker in 1956.
BCCI posted the video on Twitter and wrote, "403 international matches, 956 international wickets. Only the second bowler in the world to take 10 wickets in an innings of Tests. Best wishes to former Team India captain Anil Kumble on his birthday. Let's savour this special spell of his 10-wicket spell against Pakistan once again today."

Yuvraj Singh also congratulates Kumble
Former Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh also wished Kumble on his birthday in a special way. He posted a photo of himself with Kumble and wrote, "Jumbo by name, and also jumbo by identity, many congratulations to Anil Kumble on his birthday. You are an extremely brilliant sportsman, my senior and a great person. I hope this year brings you a lot of happiness and success. May you always be in the best of health. A lot of love and best wishes to you."
In response, Kumble also replied, "Yuvi, thank you very much."
Kumble created history at Kotla ground
The great Anil Kumble created history by taking ten wickets against Pakistan at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi. India had given Pakistan a target of 420 runs in the fourth innings of the Test match. Pakistan scored 101 runs for the loss of no wickets and seemed to be heading strongly towards the target. Kumble, however, broke Pakistan's innings and took all 10 wickets to give India, victory in the match. He was also named 'Player of the Match' for this.
Jim Laker holds 19 wickets record in a match
The first time this feat was performed by England off-break bowler Jim Laker in 1956. Jim Laker took ten wickets in the second innings in the fourth Test of the Ashes series against Australia at Old Trafford. Not only that, he also took nine wickets in Australia's first innings in the match. He holds the record for the highest number of 19 wickets in a Test. The match is known as the Lakers Match for the special performance by Jim Laker.
