Ambati Rayudu Faces Heavy Backlash For 'Peace' Post Amid Ind-Pak Tensions

The timing of Ambati Rayudu's message drew criticism from social media users who felt it was ill-placed given the current national sentiment.

Former Team India cricketer Ambati Rayudu faced heavy trolling on social media after sharing what many perceived as a "message of peace" during the escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan.

Following the cancellation of the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala, Rayudu, quoting Mahatma Gandhi, posted on X (formerly Twitter): "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind..." along with three folded hands emojis. The timing of the message drew criticism from users who felt it was ill-placed given the current national sentiment.

Following the backlash, Ambati Rayudu posted a follow-up tweet, clarifying that his earlier message was not a sign of weakness but a reflection of wisdom.

On Thursday night, Pakistan launched drone attacks targeting Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan - all of which were successfully intercepted by India’s defense systems.
