Adam Zampa speaks about Cricket Australia's 'not great' attitude towards spinners

Zampa stated that there is a lot of leeway for batsmen and they more opportunities

Australian leg spinner Adam Zampa has given a huge statement on Cricket Australia’s attitude towards the spinners in red-ball format.

Zampa, despite being one of the best limited over spinners for Australia, couldn’t find a place in the ongoing series against England. Over the year, he has been getting in and out of the team which has restricted him to play cricket continuously.

Though he has proved his mettle in the shorter formats, he hasn’t given up on the longer ones yet. However, lack of opportunities still frustrates him back and forth.

In an interview given to Cricbuzz, Zampa spoke about the discrepancy between batters and spinners in th elonger formats.

"The attitude towards spinners in red-ball cricket in Australia is not great. There's a lot of leeway for batsmen that miss out. They get more opportunity. I'd come straight from a T20 tri-series against New Zealand and England - I played only one game in that - and I bowled OK and scored runs in the [state] game but it wasn't enough to keep my spot for the next two games,” Zampa was quoted as saying.

"It's a frustration. I want to play back-to-back games. I want to get better and I just feel like I haven't really got that opportunity. My career average in four-day cricket isn't great but the last two season I've got 50 wickets in 15 games. Bowling on drop in wickets in Australia, that's improving," he added.

To get over the lack of cricket, Zampa is currently playing for Essex in the Vitality T20 Blast. He believes that he will have the opportunity to play 15-16 games straight way.
