Barcelona No. 10 Shirt: As the famous transfer window of 2021 ends, teams are slowly settling in their squads for the 2021-22 season. One of the highlights of the transfer window was Lionel Messi's emotional transfer out of Barcelona. The Argentine left his boyhood club after spending 19 years in the senior Barcelona team. His transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, means that the famous no. 10 jersey that he wore for 14 years will be worn by someone else. 

Will Barcelona Retire No. 10 Jersey For Messi? 

When a club retires a player jersey, it means that no other player could wear a jersey with the same number jersey. Diego Maradona, Paulo Maldini, Ferenc Puskas, Raul, Pele are some of the very few footballers to have achieved this feat.

Unfortunately for the Messi fans, Barcelona has not retired the number 10 jersey that the Argentine wore.

The next number 10 at FC Barcelona will be Ansu Fati! Yes, the 18 years old Spanish forward who has impressed many in the past year or so gets to wear the number 10 jersey at FC Barcelona.

Before Ansu Fati, the number 10 jersey belonged to Messi, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Pep Guardiola, and even Diego Maradona. Will Fati be able to match the quality and calibre of the number 10 jersey at Barcelona? Only time will tell.
