Mangala Gauri Vrat 2025: In Hinduism, the Mangala Gauri Vrat holds special significance. It is considered a sacred fast observed during the month of Sawan. Mangala Gauri Vrat is observed on every Tuesday of the Sawan month. On this day, Goddess Parvati is worshipped. Married women observe this fast for the long life of their husbands and a happy married life, while unmarried girls also perform this vrat. It is believed that unmarried girls who observe the Mangala Gauri Vrat are blessed with a suitable and desired life partner. Let’s find out when the Mangala Gauri Vrat will begin this year.

Mangala Gauri Vrat 2025 Dates

This year, the month of Sawan will begin on July 11. The first Tuesday of Sawan falls on July 15, and the first Mangala Gauri Vrat will be observed on this day. The other Mangala Gauri Vrats will be held on July 22, July 29, and the fourth one on August 5, 2025.

Mangala Gauri Vrat Puja Vidhi

On the day of Mangala Gauri Vrat, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear clean clothes. After bathing, take a 'sankalp' for the fast with folded hands. Spread a red cloth on a wooden platform at the place of worship and place a photo or idol of Goddess Parvati on it. Light a ghee lamp and place it near the idol of the Goddess. Perform the worship following the Shodashopachara method (16-step ritual). Offer items like clove, betel nut, cardamom, fruits, betel leaves, laddoos, suhag items, and 16 bangles to Goddess Parvati. Offering 16 types of items is considered auspicious in this puja. After the puja, read the vrat katha and perform the aarti.

Mangala Gauri Vrat Rules 

  • You can observe Mangala Gauri Vrat by consuming fruits. Alternatively, a sattvic meal is also allowed.
  • However, grains like wheat, rice, and lentils should be avoided during the fast.
  • Also, avoid using white salt and consuming garlic or onion during the vrat.
