Gita Jayanti 2024: In Hinduism, the Bhagavad Gita holds great significance and is considered the most important scripture. According to the Hindu calendar, Gita Jayanti is celebrated every year on the 10th day of the Shukla Paksha in the Margashirsha month.

This year, Gita Jayanti will be observed on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. On this day, the Mokshada Ekadashi fast is also observed. Astrologers explain that on the day of the Mahabharata war, when Lord Krishna gave his teachings to Arjuna, it also coincided with the Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha in Margashirsha.

'The Gita': The Only Scripture Celebrated With A Jayanti

Different religions around the world have their own sacred texts. Hinduism also has many religious scriptures, but the Gita is the only scripture that is celebrated with a jayanti. The reason for this is that the Gita is the scripture that was spoken by Lord Krishna himself. Every verse of the Gita was uttered by Lord Krishna, which is why its jayanti is celebrated.
