Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2024: Dev Uthani Ekadashi, also known as Prabodhini Ekadashi, will be celebrated on November 12, 2024. This day holds immense religious significance as it marks the end of Lord Vishnu's four-month divine sleep (Chaturmas) and the beginning of auspicious ceremonies. Devotees believe that from this day onward, all types of celebrations and auspicious events, such as weddings, can commence.

One of the traditional rituals observed on this day is the marriage ceremony of Tulsi, the holy basil plant, with Shaligram, a revered form of Lord Vishnu. This year, several auspicious yogas—Ravi Yoga, Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga, and Shash Raj Yoga—are aligning with Dev Uthani Ekadashi, making it especially favorable for devotees to seek blessings from Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

Devotees are encouraged to pray to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi during these yogas to remove obstacles in their lives and achieve their goals. These favorable alignments are believed to ensure success for those seeking blessings.

Devotees should offer special bhog to Lord Vishnu on this day, including dishes such as halwa, bananas, kheer, and malpua, as well as seasonal offerings like greens, bhaji (cooked vegetables), and amla (Indian gooseberry).

For those unable to perform the ceremonial marriage of Tulsi and Shaligram, it is recommended to light a diya (oil lamp) near the Tulsi plant at sunset, drape it in a chunari (veil), and offer symbolic items associated with marital bliss, such as red bangles, kumkum (vermilion), bindi (forehead decoration), and garlands. The next day, these items can be donated to a married woman as a gesture of goodwill and blessings.
