2. Currently, brent crude price in the international market is $121.28 per barrel.
3. Since the month of May this year, crude oil price has been hovering at around $115 per barrel.
4. There has been a rise in fuel demands across various countries because of uncertainity of the market due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
5. Indian oil companies are suffering huge losses to to the rise in price.
6. Indian oil companies are currently losing ₹18 per litre on petrol and ₹21 per litre on diesel.
7. The Indian government had slashed the excise duty on fuel prices in May by ₹8 on petrol and ₹6 on diesel per litre respectively.
8. If fuel prices in India rise again then all the initiatives and schemes introduced by RBI to control inflation will fail.
