• The latest GDP growth rate figures released by the government. The recent figures released by the ministry of statistics and programme implementation for the financial year 2021-22's 4th quarter has shaken the claims of the government a little bit.
• The country's GDP growth rate from January 2022 to March 2022 has been 4.1% whereas the GDP growth rate in financial year 2021 to 2022 was 8.7%.
• Due to the covid-19 induced price rises around the world, the Indian government on 28 February 2022 announced that the estimated growth rate for this year would be around 8.9%, but on the contrary, the growth was much lower than the estimated figure.
• The growth rate of financial year 2020-21 was 6.6%
• The first quarter of of FY 2021-22 which is April to June, the GDP growth rate was 20.1%. In the second quarter which is from July to September, the GDP growth rate was 8.4%. In the third quarter which is October to December, the GDP growth rate slipped to 5.4%.
• The fiscal deficit in the finacial year 2021-22 it stood at 6.7%.
• Experts have highlighted that after the recent slash in fuel prices by the government, the fiscal deficit is slated to rise in the coming months.
