Chasing New Zealand's target of 273 in 75 overs for a win, England lost both openers Rory Burns and Jack Crowley with 56 on board. Neil Wagner dismissed Burns while Crowley was sent back to the pavilion by Tim Southee. From here, Sibley (60* off 207 balls, with three fours) and Joe Root (40) took charge of England's innings by adding 80 runs for the third wicket. Root was dismissed (lbw) by Neil Wagner.
